Meet Dr. Andrew Winn
Discovering the Power of Chiropractic
During Dr. Andrew’s youth, he saw his mother go through two failed back surgeries and its impact on his family and household. Though he was young, he wondered, isn’t there a better way? It was chiropractic care that got his mom’s health back on track.
The idea that you could make a difference in someone’s life without the use of drugs or surgery stuck with me. I got adjusted as much and as often as I could after that.”
Learning the Science of Healing
With a father who was an engineer and a mom who was an artist, chiropractic was a good mix of science, art and philosophy, which appealed to Dr. Andrew. He enrolled at the University of Western States to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic, graduating Cum Laude in 2005. The school, known for its scientific approach, gave Dr. Andrew a firm clinical foundation on which to begin his practice.
The first patient he adjusted in the school clinic came in only because of pressure from her partner, who thought that chiropractic could be the answer to her debilitating back pain.
After the woman’s discomfort was gone, Dr. Andrew’s attending physician instructed him to release her from care. The woman, however, told Dr. Andrew that she would never stop receiving chiropractic care. Curious, he asked her why. She replied that her last two menstrual cycles, which used to sideline her life, were the best they’d been in 15 years. It demonstrated to Dr. Andrew that it was possible to impact any bodily function and other neurological aspects of care through chiropractic.
